Lego adds Luke's iconic Landspeeder to line of Star Wars vehicle sets

The 1,890-piece set has an exclusive C-3PO minifigure alongside a lightsaber-wielding Luke Skywalker.

What better way to celebrate May 4 than building Lego’s latest Star Wars set based on the X-34 Landspeeder.

The rugged vehicle may not be as iconic as the Millennium Falcon but Luke Skywalker still got around just fine with it on Tatooine’s rough desert terrain.

Lego

As usual, Lego has impressed us with its attention to detail and stayed very faithful to the original design. They nailed the curve of the Landspeeder’s nose and managed to fit a lot of important accents into the cockpit.

Lego set designer César Carvalhosa Soares said in a press release that they included some scratches to imitate all the wear-and-tear from Luke’s travels.

Lego even designed the random scrap parts and the exposed turbine engine of Luke’s Landspeeder.

Even with all the details they managed to squeeze in, the Landspeeder set is only going to be 1,890 pieces. It’s more in line with the A-Wing set that’s also from Lego’s Ultimate Collector Series.

Both of those sets pale in comparison to the 6,785-piece Lego AT-AT set Lego released last year.

Luke and C-3PO

The Landspeeder set includes two minifigures, Luke Skywalker complete with his lightsaber and an exclusive C-3PO with 2K-molded legs and side print.

Lego said the Landspeeder set will be available on its website and in Lego stores on May 4 for $200. If you’re a Lego VIP member though, you can get it as early as May 1.
