Razor’s electric scooter collab with Jeep is seriously underwhelming

Everyone’s favorite scooter brand partnered with Jeep for an off-roading electric scooter with Jeep's fingerprint all over it.

Two titans of transportation have teamed up to release the Jeep RX 200, a rugged-looking electric scooter loaded to the gills with Jeep fan-pleasing design.

Design wise, the scooter pays homage to Jeep, adding two bug-eyed headlamps, an Army Green-like color, and of course, some Jeep branding. When you think of Jeep, you probably think of off-roading, so Razor also outfitted the scooter with some treaded tires that can handle a rip on backroads.

Razor and Jeep also opted for a wider and more comfortable standing platform to make for a smoother ride when you hit the trails.

The specs, however, are surprisingly underwhelming given the off-road connotations. Speed wise, the scooter tops out at 12 mph and comes with a pretty underpowered 200-watt motor which gives you about 40 minutes of riding, or an 8-mile range, on a single charge. Razor says its scooter is recommended for those 18 and older and supports a max weight of 154 lbs.

How does it stack up?

It’s definitely a bit unfair to compare a Jeep to a Bugatti but we’re going to do it anyways — with their electric scooters at least. Bugatti’s recent entry into the electric scooter market has a top speed of 19 mph and can reach 22 miles on a single charge.

The collab might be perfect for hardcore Jeep fans who want to rep the brand in scooter form, but it is admittedly a little disappointing when you consider Razor’s other electric scooters in its product lineup, like the E Prime III pictured. While not meant for off-roading, they mostly offer better range, higher speeds and more features.

But if for some reason, this Razor x Jeep collab speaks to you, it’s due to hit the shelves this February $499.
