The electric Cobra is the classic car conversion of your dreams

All of the classic car class without any of the gas-guzzling guilt.

Introducing: the Cobra AC

While this car may look just like a class Shelby Cobra, it’s actually a full-on electric conversion made by AC cars, that replaces the combustion engine with a 55 kWh battery pack and an emissions-free electric powertrain.

The AC Cobra Series 1 started as a concept last year but has evolved as it inches closer to production. Makers of the conversion say the classic EV now has 308 horsepower and, as a result, pretty stellar acceleration...

The electric Cobra can go from 0-62 mph in just four seconds.

The range isn't exactly superb, but this is more of a joyride vehicle anyway.

While the range on this reimagined Cobra might not be astronomical, the price tag definitely packs a punch.

£138K

That's more than $190,000.

That price tag makes a lot more sense when you consider how few of these gems are getting made. To celebrate the original Cobra, which was made nearly 60 years ago, AC Cars is making just 58 of the Series 1.

So if you’re into classic cars, like saving the environment, and have $200,000 to spare, you better snatch one up fast.
