Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a lovely change of pace from shooters and RPGs. And right now you can download it for an unbeatable price.
Ori and the Will of the Wisp's graphics and gameplay are light in the best way. There are plenty of puzzles and boss fights, but none that feel insurmountable.
You'll navigate the game's exquisite world as Ori, the cutest of guardian spirits, hopping and gliding and slashing on a quest to reunite with a friendly owl named Ku.
The Xbox isn't exactly known for its wealth of platformers, skewing mostly toward the hyper-realistic shoot 'em ups instead. Ori and the Will of the Wisps feels like a welcome breath of fresh air.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a direct sequel to 2015's Ori and the Blind Forest, but there's no need to play the games in order. The sequel's story will fill you in just fine.
Until January 2, you can download the Xbox version of the game for just $14.99 — half its usual price.
It's half-off over on Steam, too, if PC games are more your style.
